For most problems that may affect the station's operation, alarms and/or advisories are sent to the SCC, and
the station is often shut down and made unavailable to users. When these errors occur, you can follow the
various troubleshooting steps outlined in this chapter to attempt to determine the cause of the problem and
rectify it as necessary to make the station operational again.
This chapter covers the overall procedures for troubleshooting malfunctioning components on the Nexus
Station, as well as specific procedures and illustrations for the following components:
Air valve and slide-gate assemblies
Turnstile
Push-rod
Security door
Brake
Carriers and sensors
General station errors

Sequence for troubleshooting Nexus Station component errors

Troubleshooting errors that occur for the motorized and moving components of the station follows a stan-
dard sequence that includes these steps, further detailed in the next table:
Inspect the affected component and the surrounding area to verify that it is intact and
undamaged.
Check for any physical debris or other impediments that could interfere with the movement of
the affected component.
