Prepare to clean the station
To clean inside the Nexus Station, you must remove the outer door and storage panel. While the station is
designed to keep spills contained within the interior, before you begin removing the outer door and storage
panel, look for signs of the leak on those outer surfaces, and clean them as necessary.
IMPORTANT! Wear protective gloves at all times during the cleaning process, following
your organization's established guidelines. Wash your hands thoroughly after removing and
properly disposing of the gloves.
Follow these steps to prepare to clean the Nexus Station.
1
Shut down the station at the SCC or station control panel.
2
Place a clean plastic tarp—or other protective material as designated by your organization to be used
in the event of a spill or leak—in front of the station and over any adjacent surface where you plan to
place components of the station as they are removed.
3
Wipe down the front of the outer door and storage panel if necessary. Then remove both from the
station, along with the trim frame. Clean the back sides of the door and storage panel, if necessary,
and set them aside.
For instructions on how to remove the main door and storage panel,

Clean inside the station
Start from outside the station, and move inward to clean all exposed surfaces.
Inside-station surfaces
After removing the outer door and storage panel, wipe down all of the flat surfaces that you can reach
inside the station, including the base frame, back and side walls, and front fascia.
1
Wipe down all exposed horizontal and vertical surfaces inside the station.
2
Remove the air filter from the base frame. It is attached with four Phillips-head screws.
3
Carefully remove the drip pan from underneath the turnstile, and properly dispose of any fluids con-
tained in it. Cover it with the lid if necessary to help avoid further spreading the spilled material.
