LEANING PROCEDURES
LEAN INSIDE THE STATION
Upper station
While the Nexus Station is designed in a way that makes it unlikely for spilled materials to escape to the
upper portion of the station, you should inspect the upper portion for evidence of leaked material.
IMPORTANT! If you find evidence or have reason to suspect that a spilled contaminant
may have leaked into the slide-plate area below the manifold cover, the cover may require
removal for further cleaning.
In the event the slide plate and valve assembly require cleaning, the turnstile assembly must
be removed from the station. Follow the instructions outlined in the next section to remove
it and clean larger spills.
In the upper station, above the turnstile assembly, wipe down all exposed surfaces, including the out-
side of the air manifold that covers the slide plate and the metal surfaces that comprise the upper
turnstile assembly. Avoid getting cleaning fluid or other liquid substances on the circuit boards and
other electronic components.
Inspect for evidence of contaminant
Turnstile assembly
Clean all five compartments of the turnstile assembly, including the sides of each compartment. Turn it
manually, and repeat the process for each of the five compartments.

Remove the front security door and set aside.
2
Clean each turnstile compartment, including the side panels and upper tube.
