3.4.1.
Two interchangeable models of Brake Board (LASER and NEW EFI) are used, each is
characterized by a specific SW. They can be distinguished from each other by different features on
the cover, while the SW is identifiable according to the version of the kernel.

You can see, as regards appearance, that:
 the LASER board (compared with the previous 65W board, which also was in the form of a
black plastic box) has a bevel on one of its sides.
 the NEW EFI board (as opposed to all the other brake boxes used up to now) has a metal
heat dissipator on one of its sides.
In order to identify the board unequivocally, you should refer to the kernel revision,
which can be found on the label that is usually attached to the rear of the box (see
example in the figure below).
If it is programmed with an incorrect SW, it causes communication problems between the high kit and the low kit
and the following message appears on the display "THE EQUIPMENT IS BLOCKED (COM)".
