POSSIBLE CAUSE
Prolonged functioning at high
temperature of the oil.
Oil gasket assembled incorrectly.
Damaged or worn gasket lip.
Contaminated oil.
Excessive use.
Pinion nut loose.
Excessive pinion axial backlash.
Excessive use or continuous
overload.
Crash load of differential
components.
Excessive use.
Insufficient lubrication.
Incorrect lubrication.

CORRECTION
Replace the gasket or seal and
matching surface if damaged.

recommended intervals.

Check and adjust the backlash.
Replace bevel gear.
Check and/or replace other
differential components.
Replace differential gear assy.
Replace axle beam, if necessary.
Use a correct lubricant, top up to
correct level and replace washers.

Check pinion axial backlash.
Use proper lubrication, fill up to right
level and replace at recommended
intervals.
