Replacing a Call Processor Server Disk in a Four-Server Configuration

Use this procedure to replace a disk on either Call Processor server in a
four-server configuration.
To replace a disk on either UMS server in a four-server configuration, see
"Replacing a UMS Server Disk in a Four-Server
this appendix.
To replace a disk on either server in a two-server configuration, see
"Replacing a Disk in a Two-Server
appendix.
A service person arrives with a laptop that is used to connect to the serial
port on the down server. The laptop functions as the console terminal
because VCX servers have no keyboard or monitor.
The service person isolates the down server from the network to avoid
the possibility of telephones trying to access it before it is ready.
The service person replaces the disk drive and reboots the system.

4 Modify the /etc/hosts file on the down server to add an alias for the UMS
server.
a Use the nano or vi editor to open the file.
b Remove umshost from the line that contains it.
c Add this line, substituting the IP address of eth0 on the Primary UMS
host for <IP address>:

d Save the file and exit.
