Modifying the Hosts File (Secondary VCX Server)
You must modify the /etc/hosts file on the secondary VCX server to add
an alias for the UMS server.
1 Use the nano or vi editor to open the file.
2 Remove umshost from the line that contains it.
3 Add this line:
10.20.30.44 umshost
4 Save the file and exit.
Enabling Database Replication Between VCX Servers
To enable database replication between the primary and secondary VCX
servers, configure both servers to the point described in
Hosts File (Primary VCX Server)"
(Secondary VCX
Server)", earlier in this chapter.
To enable database replication, follow these steps:
1 Stop the auth application on both servers.
On the primary VCX server and the secondary VCX server enter these
commands:
cd /opt/3com/VCX/auth/bin
./auth stop
2 Stop the dir application on both servers.
On the primary VCX server and the secondary VCX server enter these
commands:
