If a disk drive failure occurs on a VCX server, use the appropriate
procedure in this appendix to replace the failed disk and bring the VCX
server back into service.
Assumption: The replacement disk arrives and contains an older version
of the software on the running server.
The running server continues to deliver service to VCX system users.
Telephones use this server for all calls.
CAUTION: You must know which server was configured as the Master
Definition Server (also known as the primary server) when both servers
were running. During the disk replacement procedure, some commands
must be entered on the correct server.
Throughout this appendix, the server on which the disk failure has
occurred is referred to as the "down server" regardless of what state it is
in. The other server is referred to as the "running server," again without
reference to its state.
This appendix includes these procedures:
Replacing a Disk in a Two-Server Configuration
Replacing a Call Processor Server Disk in a Four-Server Configuration
Replacing a UMS Server Disk in a Four-Server Configuration
