Page Number (PN)
This code represents the page number within the current collation. Values of
0-63 (6 bits) are supported. The number of bits used is selectable from 2 to 6
and zero may optionally be used to designate the first page.
Byte Management
• OMR generates a straight bit string of length n.
• Code 39 character-based input may use:
- Base 10-numerics only, or;
- Base 36 full alphanumeric capability (recommended for normal use to
facilitate space and human readability components of code (if gener-
ated), or;
- Base 43 full Code 39 character set including special characters.
• Interleaved 2 of 5, base 10 numeric code only.

Presence mode only.

Parity (PAR)
This OMR mark improves code read integrity. When parity is active, it makes
the total number of printed marks either odd or even, as the customer prefers.
This feature provides a greater degree of reliability that the complete sheet
scan is accurate. Any single missing or misread mark causes a parity error.
This state stops the machine and displays the appropriate error message. The
application options set by the user determine the subsequent actions taken by
the machine:
• In open loop applications, no automated correction can be assumed be-
cause the scan information is suspect; therefore the machine stops and
requires manual intervention to recover the collation.

Safety (SAF)
This mark is an extension of the benchmark function and is commonly used to
improve the read rate. It is present in a specified location, usually the end of
the mark set. It is only used in Presence mode. Its use adds an additional lev-
el of mail integrity (i.e., scanning of the current sheet is correct and accurate).
The mark/function must appear on all pages of a collation.
