Or you may have an interface which automatically transports the mail pieces to a Pitney Bowes mailing machine for postal metering. These units can be unlatched from the machine when not needed or to allow clearance of stalled material in the inserting/sealing section of the machine.

Press Trial Piece to “test run” one mail piece for your job. This allows the system to calibrate itself to the type of material being run and also allows you to check that the mail piece is being created properly.
