IMPORTANT - Defining the Clear Zone (continued)
If the job has no SAF mark:
• The machine will ask for the distance from the top of the sheet to the
first mark and the length of the marks. The measurement should be
done as specified, without a clear zone, but there should be a clear area
around the marks with no text or graphics.
• For the case of EOC only, the length of the marks will be 2mm (the mini-
mum value that can be entered in the UIM).

NOTES:
• Marks should not be placed within 20mm of either the top or bottom of the
sheet. That 20mm includes a clear zone if it is required.
Example: If there are four OMR marks,
and they start 45mm from the top of
page and they take up 7mm in space,
then:
1. The distance to the top of first mark
2. The length of the marks is 7mm.
