Customer has an existing Barcode (BCR) application running on a
competitive inserter
1. Can I run this application on the DI900/DI950 inserter?
A. It depends. The DI900/DI950 must be at integrity level "Barcode" (>see
"Scanning Levels Overview" on page 4-19).
B. Compare the printed application marks against our DI900/DI950 barcode
specifications (>see "Barcode Print and Placement Specifications" on
page 4-6) to make sure they meet requirements for symbology (barcode 3
of 9 or Interleaved 2 of 5), font type, font size, clear zone, etc.
2. How do I implement this application on the DI900/DI950 inserter?
Program a scan code on the DI900/DI950 that includes the BCR functions
you need. Then assign a scan configuration to a job (>see Chapter 7, In-
serter Setup).

on the mailpiece contents (EOC, BOC, Fold Type, etc.)?
>See "DI900/DI950 Scan Codes and Levels" on page 2-15 for help.
4. Who is doing the application programming (customer's IT or Pitney
Bowes)?
Does it make sense for customer to buy and use PB FIRST™ or PB
