End-of-Collation (EOC)
This mark designates the last sheet in a variable page collation. This mark is
the formal control parameter in managing collation separation. When read, the
machine completes the mail piece in process according to any other informa-
tion contained in either the marks or the job definition, and then begins the
next piece. Except for a job using BOC in the DI900/950 High-Capacity Sheet
Feeder, this is the only control parameter for a scan job.

Sense
This mark can be used in two separate senses. The first (presence) indicates
that the EOC position is blank on every sheet except the last sheet of the col-
lation. In this mode, when the mark is scanned, no more sheets are fed in to
the collation, and the current accumulated collation on the deck is passed to
the next downstream module. The second mode (absence) places the mark
on every page in the collation except the last. In this mode, if the mark is ab-
sent or missed, the collation is terminated and the current accumulated colla-
tion on the deck is passed to the next downstream module. In this case, if a
mark is missed, the collation splits between two envelopes, but the mark can
never put two collations into one envelope.
Envelope Select (ENV)
This mark selects the alternate (secondary) envelope feeder for this piece,
otherwise the primary envelope is selected. Allows the substitution of a flats
envelope for a letter envelope if need be. The mark/function must appear on
all pages of a collation.
NOTE: The DI900 model does not support this feature. Significant throughput
loss occurs if only a HCEF is present (throughput estimated at 3000 – 3600
per hour).
