• PAP: Only run PAP (PPP Password Authentication Protocol);
the password is transferred unencrypted.
• CHAP: Only run CHAP (PPP Challenge Handshake Authentic-
ation Protocol as per RFC 1994); the password is transferred
encrypted.
• PAP/CHAP: Primarily run CHAP, otherwise PAP.
• MS-CHAPv1: Only run MS-CHAP version 1 (PPP Microsoft
Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol).
• MS-CHAPv2: Run MS-CHAP version 2 only.
Only for PPP Authentication = MS-CHAPv2
If necessary, select the type of encryption that should be used
for data traffic to the connection partner. This is only possible if
STAC or MS-STAC compression is not activated for the con-
nection. If Encryption is set, the remote terminal must also sup-
port it, otherwise a connection cannot be set up.
Possible values:
• None (default value): MPP encryption is not used.
• Enabled. MPP encryption V2 with 128 bit is used to RFC
3078.
• Windows compatible: MPP encryption V2 with 128 bit is
used as compatible with Microsoft and Cisco.
Select the Callback Mode function.
Possible values:
• None (default value): Your device does not call back.
• Active: Select one of the following options:
• No PPP Negotiation: Your device calls the connection
partner to request a callback.
• Windows Client Mode: Your device calls the connection
partner to request a callback via CBCP (Callback Control
Protocol). Needed for Windows clients.
• Passive: Select one of the following options:
• Enabled. Your device calls back immediately when re-
bintec R1xxx/R3xxx/R4xxx
