The library is calibrated before shipment. Under normal operating
conditions, you do not need to calibrate the library. However, you
may be asked by Exabyte's technical support personnel to
calibrate the library as part of a troubleshooting procedure.
When you calibrate the library, the robot's laser first scans the
calibration targets on the data cartridge magazines and the
calibration block (in the calibration block slot). The robot then
picks the calibration block from the calibration block slot and
places it into the fixed cartridge slot and the tape drives. The
robot's laser scans the calibration targets in each location to
determine their exact position.

and lock the door.
