Chapter 6
The Tape Drive Information Menu allows you to display
information about the tape drive, including the type of tape drive
installed and its operational status. The tape drive information
screen is updated whenever there is a change in drive status.

When you select a drive, the following activities occur:
The robot picks the cleaning cartridge from the fixed slot
and inserts it in the tape drive.
The tape drive automatically performs the cleaning process
and unloads the cartridge when the process is complete.
This may take several minutes (longer if the cleaning
cartridge has been used often).
The robot automatically picks the cartridge from the tape
drive and replaces it in the fixed cartridge slot.
Confirm that the cleaning was done by looking at the LED on
the front of the tape drive. The Use Cleaning Tape LED should
be off. If the LED is still on, replace the cleaning cartridge and
clean the tape drive again.
If the LEDs are still on after the second cleaning, there
may be a problem with the tape drive. Contact your
service provider.
When the cleaning is complete, return the library to SCSI
mode and re-enable security, if appropriate.
