Special recording functions

When recording to P2 cards, the special recording functions of pre-recording, interval recording, one-shot recording, loop recording, and one-clip
recording can be performed by setting in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [REC FUNCTION].

Pre-recording

This function enables recording of video and audio from a fixed amount of time (0 to 8 seconds, and max. 15 seconds in DVCPRO and DV) before
recording is actually started.

Check the settings of each item in the main menu → [SYSTEM] → [SYSTEM MODE].
For details on system modes in which the pre-recording function can be used, refer to the table in "System modes and recording functions"
(page 50).
For details on menu operations, refer to "Setting menu basic operations" (page 140).

Set [ON] in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [REC FUNCTION] → [PRE REC], and set pre-recording by [PRE REC TIME].

t [P-REC] indicator when [PRE REC] is set to [OFF]
When [PRE REC] is set to [OFF], [REC] is displayed until recording of video or audio to the P2 card is completely finished after recording is stopped.
Refer to "Information display such as interval recording/pre-recording" (page 80) for information about the [P-REC] indicator.
This indicator can be turned off by setting [OFF] in the main menu → [VF] → [VF INDICATOR] → [P-REC/i-REC].
t Press the <USER> button to which [PRE REC] is assigned to simply toggle between [PRE REC] [ON]/[OFF]. For details, refer to "Assigning functions
to <USER> buttons" (page 61).
t Video and audio according to the preset time sometimes cannot be recorded in the following cases:
- Immediately after the power is turned on
- After recording-related settings have been altered in the setting menu
- Immediately after the P2 card is inserted
- After playback or recording check is performed
t The pre-recording function does not function in the following cases:
- When an item other than [NORMAL] is selected in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [REC FUNCTION] → [RECORDING] ([INTERVAL], [ONE SHOT],
or [LOOP] is set)
- When [SDI] is selected in the main menu → [SYSTEM] → [SYSTEM MODE] → [REC SIGNAL]
- When [1080-59.94P] or [1080-50P] is selected in the main menu → [SYSTEM] → [SYSTEM MODE] → [LINE&FREQ], and [AVC-I100] is selected in
the main menu → [SYSTEM] → [SYSTEM MODE] → [REC FORMAT]

Interval recording

The camera will record at the set time intervals.

Set [INTERVAL] in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [REC FUNCTION] → [RECORDING].

Set the following related items in the main menu → [REC/PB] → [REC FUNCTION].
f [HOLD]: Holds the [REC FUNCTION] setting after the power is turned off
f [REC TIME]: Duration of each recording
f [PAUSE TIME]: Standby time between recordings
f [START DELAY]: Delay time from the time when the <REC> button is pressed until the time the first recording starts

Press the <REC> button.
Interval recording starts according to the set intermittent time.
f When [PAUSE TIME] is set to two minutes or longer, the tally lamp flashes every five seconds to indicate that the camera is on standby.
