Engine Connections
IMPORTANT: When routing all wire harnesses and hoses, be sure they are routed and
secured to avoid coming in contact with hot spots on engine and to avoid contact with
moving parts.
1. Connect seawater inlet hose (provided in transom parts bag) to water tube. Secure with
Ensure gear lube monitor hose is not kinked when connecting in the following step. If hose is kinked,
gear lube monitor will not function properly and damage to stern drive could occur.

2. Route gear lube monitor hose to gear lube monitor bottle and cut off excess hose.
Connect hose and secure with hose clamp shown.
3. Use extra hose clips to secure hose to transom.
4. Secure hose to engine with cable ties.
IMPORTANT: Hose must not come in contact with steering system components,
engine couplet or drive shaft.
