Test Running Engine

Electrical system components on this engine are not external ignition protected. DO NOT STORE
OR UTILIZE GASOLINE ON BOATS EQUIPPED WITH THESE ENGINES, UNLESS PROVISIONS
HAVE BEEN MADE TO EXCLUDE GASOLINE VAPORS FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT (REF: 33
CFR). Failure to comply could result in fire, explosion and/or severe personal injury.
If engine is to be tested with boat out of water, the propeller must be removed to avoid injury.
Overheating from insufficient cooling water will cause engine and drive damage. Ensure that there
is sufficient water always available at the water inlet holes during operation.
IMPORTANT: If using a test tank, ensure water level is above water intake holes.
Typical
a - Minimum Water Level
b - Water Intake Holes
IMPORTANT: If using flush attachment, install over water intake holes and connect a water hose. Do
NOT use full water tap pressure. Do NOT run engine above 1500 rpm, as suction created could cause
water hose to collapse causing water supply to be cut off.
Typical
a - Flush Attachment
b - Water Hose Hook-Up
