Ubigate iBG3026 Configuration Guide
CHAPTER 6.
Serial Interfaces
Ubigate iBG3026 supports High Speed Serial Interface(HSSI) and various
serial interfaces such as V.35, RS-232, X.21, 449 and 530. This document
outlines the configuration of module parameters(Layer 1) and, to a lesser
degree, the configuration of bundle parameters(Layer 2).
The bundle configuration examples demonstrate linking of physical
interfaces(modules) to logical interfaces(bundles). Module configuration
occurs within the configure module tree of the Ubigate CLI, and bundle
configuration occurs within the configure interface bundle tree.

Serial Interfaces Overview

Multi-Protocol Serial Interface

The Serial Network Module provides a user with four multi-protocol serial
interfaces with the ability to support the following serial protocol standards in
either DCE or DTE mode: EIA 232C, EIA 449, EIA 530, EIA 530A, V.35, and
X.21.
A Multi-Protocol Transceiver in Ubigate iBG3026 constains all the necessary
drivers and receivers for one port to support the appropriate interface types,
levels, and termination for the different modes. Each SmartSerial DB26 leaf-
contact style connector provides a single cable interface to support any one the
different serial standards and modes, all self-configurable depending on which
cable type is inserted.
