Purpose
Enters dial-peer configuration mode and
defines a remote VoIP dial peer.
The number argument is one or more digits
identifying the dial peer. Valid entries are from
1 to 10000.
The voip keyword indicates a dial peer using
voice encapsulation on the IP network.
Matches dialed digits to a telephony device.
The string argument is a series of digits that
specify the E.164 or private dialing plan
telephone number.
Valid entries are the numbers 0 through 9.
You can also enter the following special
characters:
- The asterisk(*) or pound sign(#) on standard
touch-tone dial pads can be used anywhere
in the pattern.
- The period(.) acts as a wildcard character.
When the timer(T) character is included at
the end of the destination pattern, the router
collects dialed
digits until the interdigit timer expires
(5 seconds, by default) or until you dial the
termination character(the default is #).
The timer character must be a capital T.
Defines the IP address of the router that is
connected to the remote telephony device.
The ipv4:destination-address,
ipv6:destination-address keyword and
argument indicate the IP address of the
remote router.
The dns:host-name keyword and argument
indicate that the domain name server will
resolve the name of the IP address. Valid
entries for this parameter are characters
representing the name of the host device.
