CHAPTER 31. Digital Voice Port
Configure Basic Parameters
enables interworking with PSTN or PBX which is directly connected with the
voice port by using some setup functions of DS0 group configured in digital
trunk.
Mostly, to start the function of the voice port with a minimum setup, when a
voice port is created, each command is initialized in a default value.
Or in order to support further setup, supports advanced configuration function.

Configure Advanced Parameters
is able to tune signaling specific setup, or voice quality setup using Advanced
configuration.
Since the signaling specific parameters on E1 R2 are set up via CAS
customizing, this section describes voice quality tuning.
Echo Adjustment
The most prevalent cause of echo in PSTN is impedance mismatches within
the hybrid where 4-wire phone circuits are converted to 2-wire circuits.
This electrically generated echo occurs when the incoming energy from the far
end speaker is reflected back toward the speaker as a slightly altered and
delayed replication due to impedance mismatch in the hybrid(Figure 31.6).

Command
Enter the global configuration mode.
Enter the module configuration mode.
Selects a two-letter country name define in the
voice-port mode. It decides call progress tone
parameters and other locale-specific parameters.
Specifies companding standard used. Even
though the set up values are different each other,
a conversion is made by internal TDM switch.
(optional) a representative ID set up in this voice-
port, names text string.
Exit the voice-port configuration mode.
checks out if the values set up in the voice port
are set up normally.
