Configuring Channels and Call Routing
Consider the following when configuring the IPG:
Specify Inbound Port Groups as a list of ranges. Do not overlap IPG ranges.
l
Include all revenue lines in the list.
l
Include a default IPG. The default does not require a range.
l
Configuring the IPG is a two-part process:
1. Edit the Port Groups Configuration File, PortGroupsIB.txt.

2. Load the configuration onto the system by following the procedure in

Understanding the PortGroupsIB.txt file

The PortGroupsIB.txt file may contain commands to set: version, group, range, annmsgid,
autoconf, answer, routecall, and codepartition. Each command is described here.
version <major>.<minor>
There is a single version command at the top of the file. Set the version to 1.1.
group <name> [default]
PortGroupsIB.txt may contain one to thirty group commands. The setting for this command
provides a name for each group. The name must be unique and may contain up to 16
characters. One group must be identified as the default group.
range <low> <high>
Each group command must contain one or more range commands. The total number of
range commands across all groups can not exceed the maximum number of ports for the
system, often 1000. Each line identifies the range of ports included in this group.
The hunt order in any range is first available, in either ascending or descending order.
The default search order is ascend.
annmsgid
The annmsgid command assigns an annunciator message number to the group.
Annunciator messages are voice greetings and instructions to conference participants that
call into or are called by an operator into a conference. See
Annunciator Messages
autoconf
The autoconf command sets the Automatic Conference Select (ACS) parameter. This
setting the system which ports are associated with conference numbers so the system can
route incoming calls on those ports directly into those conferences. No conference code is
necessary for ACS channels, nor is operator assistance required to place the lines in a
conference.
