PINManaging Annunciator Messages
Message Assignment Considerations
Consider the following when working with voice messages:
All conferences supported by the system use the same message/tone configuration (with
l
the exception of conferee entry and exit annunciators).
All lines in a conference are muted while a line message plays.
l
You can configure messages to play to individual lines (line messages) or to entire
l
conferences (conference messages).
You can play a continuously looping "on hold" message in the Enter Queue.
l
Message 242 is the default message played to blast-dialed conferees.
l
The system always uses message 247 as the PIN code prompt.
l
When a conference or line is set to play messages and also sound tones, the following
l
conditions apply:
When a message is being played to a line or conference, the system may delay some
l
actions until the message finishes playing.
Tones that sound while a message is playing (e.g., a warning tone during an entry
l
message) are heard over the message.
Conferees on lines listening to a line-specific message (e.g., No ODO Privilege) do not
l
hear conference tones (e.g., Exit Tones).
Lines on which a line-specific message is played may be removed from a conference
l
that is listening to a conference message. Similarly, lines may be returned to a
conference that is hearing a conference message.
Conference messages cause no functional change to the conference. If an operator
l
accesses a line waiting for a line message, all line messages destined for the line are
eliminated and are not played.
If a line is transferred to another conference, all line messages destined for the line are
l
not played and are deleted.
Conference messages are recorded along with conference dialog in conferences that are
l
being recorded. Line messages are not recorded.
If you enable the On-Hold Msg Frequency parameter in the System Configuration
l
screen, the change does not take effect until the Enter Queue has cleared.

Managing Annunciator Text

The Flexible Annunciator Messages option enables you to compose, edit, and save text
versions of annunciator messages. You can compose a message script for a narrator to read for
a message recording, or you can determine what messages are available on the system without
