stored in Microsoft wav format and be G.711, 8kHz sample rate, 16-bit resolution,
mono, mu-Law files. These messages are saved with a file number and the .wav
extension.

Recording Messages

For optimal performance, create the annunciator recordings in a manner that results in a good
quality digital file. Use an audio editing program to insert or trim the leading and/or trailing
silences.
Tip:
The configuration file is stored in /usr2/flexannun.
Tip:
Messages consist of one or more segments, which are strung together to create a complete
sentence.
Segments may be:
Initial Segments, e.g. "The file number you entered is:",
l
Middle Segments, mostly the digits 0-9,
l
Tail Segments, e.g. "...participants currently in your conference", and
l
Stand-alone segments, e.g. "Conference security has been activated".
l
Silence must precede and follow each segment of the recorded message. When creating the
file, record approximately 0.5 - 0.9 seconds of complete silence before and after the complete
sentence. The silence prior to a segment that will be combined with another segment is
generally 0.05 - 0.09 seconds. If the segment will lead into another segment, then its trailing
silence is shorter, in the range of 0.2 - 0.3 seconds.
Note:
Messages are limited to one minute in duration.
Note:
The following examples show the silence increments in square brackets, ([ ]).
