Music / Music channels — The number of lines for playing music in
conferences, Enter Queue, and Hold conferences, which serve as
"waiting rooms" for conferees. If analog music is enabled for the M-1
music channel, only three channels (M-2, M-3, M-4) are available for
music from digital sources.
Note:
Analog Music / Analog Music—
you want to configure the system to support an analog music source
from a device connected to the front-panel RCA jack.
Note: The S6200/S6800 does not support analog music.
About Configuring Link Channels
An FDAPI Link channel supports a dedicated telecommunication path to a Link channel on
another system to integrate a conference hosted by one system with a conference on another.
Unlike a Virtual Link Line (VLL) connection between two systems, which is established across
revenue channels (conferee channels), Link channels are not available as revenue channels.
You can configure up to 48 FDAPI channels on a system as Link channels. This means you can
integrate 48 conferences on one system with 48 conferences on another system equivalently
configured.
Guidelines for working with dedicated Linked Lines:
Each FDAPI Link channel designated to receive calls must have a dedicated telephone
l
number assigned to it by a service provider for your installation site.
You can dial from a FDAPI Link channel on a system into a revenue channel designated
l
as a VLL on another.
Refer to the for instructions on linking conferences using Link-channel to Link-channel
connections and Link-channel to VLL connections.
Music channels have system resources assigned to their
incoming audio paths but not to their outgoing audio paths.
As a result, random noise is transmitted through the outgoing
audio path. To ensure that conference participants do not
hear this random noise, make sure outgoing signals are
blocked on devices connected to Music channels.
