CHAPTER 5 UEFI Menu Operations
FIGURE 5.9 Boot options in Boot Manager
A successful boot means the operating system boots. An unsuccessful boot means the next boot option becomes
the boot target. In the example in
FIGURE 5.9 Boot options in Boot
Manager, [UEFI: Embedded DVD/CD] becomes
the boot target.
You can change the boot priority for a UEFI-aware OS from the [Change Boot Order] screen of the [Boot Options]
menu. (See
[Change Boot Order]
menu.)
FIGURE 5.10 Boot Manager after a change in the boot order
shows the [Boot Manager] menu after [Windows Boot
Manager] and [UEFI: Embedded DVD/CD] swap places in the order of priority. In this example, the first boot
attempt uses the [UEFI:Embedded DVD/CD] option. If the attempt fails, the next boot attempt uses Windows Boot
Manager.
