Avaya Communication Manager controlled maintenance
The DS1 tie trunk maintenance strategy covers logging DS1 tie trunk hardware errors, running
tests for trunk initialization, periodic and scheduled maintenance, system technician-demanded
tests, and alarm escalation and resolution. Three different trunk service states are specified in
DS1 tie trunk maintenance:
Out-of-service
In-service
Disconnect
(ready-for-service)
If the DS1 Interface media module is out of service, then all trunks on the DS1 Interface media
module are also placed into the out-of-service state and a Warning alarm is raised.
