[ TX/RX ] Initial identification (T0/T1) time-over
Cause
• The tone/pulse setting is wrong.
• The time it takes to connect to the other
party's line is too long.
• The other party does not respond.
• The other party's communication mode
(G2, G3, etc.) does not match.
• The 2nd dial tone does not arrive for trans-
mission to F-NET (Facsimile communica-
tion network services). [Japanese model]
• During transmission, the other party mal-
functioned because of an echo.
• During reception, the machine malfunc-
tioned because of an echo.
• Transmission to MF1 (Minifax 1) was ini-
tiated without starting MF1 mode. [Japa-
nese model]
Remedy
• Make the correct tone/pulse setting.
• When registering an auto-dial number, put
a relatively long pause after the telephone
number to delay the T0 timer start mechanism.
• To prevent a time-over condition, increase
the T0 timer setting
• To prevent a time-over condition, increase
the T1 timer setting
• Contact the operator of the other party, and
find out the cause.
• The communication mode depends on each
specific model, and no remedy can be offered.
• Check to find out that a subscription has
been signed for F-NET; then, inform the
telephone company of that the line is out
of order.
• Provide echo remedy 1
• Using a manual call, press the Start button
after hearing the 1st DIS from the other party.
• To prevent response to the 1st DIS from
the other party, put a relatively long pause
to the telephone number when registering
an auto-dial number.
• Ask the operator of the other party to pro-
vide echo remedy 2
• Ask the operator of the other party to de-
crease the transmission level
• Provide echo remedy 2
• Start MF1 mode, and transmit once again.
