Chapter 2: Service Error Codes
##337 [ RX ] BJ head temperature sensor error
Cause
• The BJ cartridge (head) is faulty.
• The BJ controller of the BJ printer control
block is faulty.
• The system control board is faulty.
##338 [ RX ] Printmng position cannot be corrected
Cause
• The movement of the carriage was hindered
by any of the following factors:
1. scratches on the shift
2. dirt on the friction area of the pressure
plate
3. deformation of a part
4. inadequate amount of grease
5. Foreign matter in the carriage assem-
bly
• The carriage motor is out of sync, not al-
lowing correction of displacement during
printing in both directions.
Remedy
• Turn off the power, and disconnect the
power cord; leave the machine alone for a
while so that the head will cool.
• Replace the BJ cartridge.
• Replace the PCB that includes the BJ con-
troller.
• Turn off the power, and disconnect the
power cord; leave the machine alone for a
while so that the head will cool.
• Replace the system control board.
Remedy
• See the Service Manual of the model in
question to provide the following:
1. Replace the shaft.
2. Clean the friction area of the pressure
plate.
3. Replace the deformed part.
4. Apply grease.
5. Remove the foreign matter from the car-
riage assembly.
• The carriage belt and the carriage unit must
be replaced at the same time.
