Important: If you are installing more than one System Node, only power on one
System Expansion Node at a time, then run the system expansion wizard for that
node. Repeat these steps for each System Expansion Node.
9.9 Software steps for adding a System Expansion Node kit
Before following these steps, complete the hardware steps in the ActiveScale X100 Installation Guide. You
can add one new System Expansion Node at a time to only one system at any one site.
At this point, all nodes in the new system have link local IP addresses and ActiveScale OS pre-installed on
them.
Warning: Components in the System Expansion Node might have newer
firmware than your existing components have. This procedure does not upgrade
or downgrade any firmware.
Warning: Do not start a log collection job while a System Expansion Node job
is running.
1. Start the system expansion wizard.
Important: On multi-site deployments, log into the GUI from the on each sites
System Node to initiate the wizard.
a. In ActiveScale CM, click Configuration > Upgrade.
b. In the System Expansion section, scroll down to System Node.
c. Click System node.
