data safety of the system is not optimal or there are failed drives, fix the issues by
replacing the drives before starting this procedure.
Warning: You can only do one scale up at a time: complete the scale up of one
system before starting the scale up of another system.
Warning: Components in the scale up kit might have newer firmware than your
existing components have. This procedure does not upgrade or downgrade any
firmware.
Warning: If a scale up or scale out job is already in progress, wait until the
current job is complete to start the multi-site scale up job.
Warning: Do not start a log collection job while a scale up job is running.
1. Verify the health of the system.
a. Make sure all nodes are online.
b. Click Configuration > System.
c. In the General Info section, under Health Check, click Run.
d. Monitor the status of the health check job in the Jobs pane.
e. If the health check job has errors, stop. Contact Western Digital Support for help.
2. Start the scale up wizard to provision newly populated sleds one by one.
a. Click Configuration > Upgrade.
b. In the System Expansion section, scroll down to Scale Up.
c. Click Start.
