9 Installing System Expansion Node kits
System Expansion Node kits provide one additional System Node for your ActiveScale system. Additional
System Nodes allow you to increase system performance with your current storage capacity. You can add
up to three System Expansion Node kits (three additional System Nodes) to each ActiveScale X100 base
system. Multi-site deployments can support up to 21 System Expansion Nodes.
System Expansion Node kits are supported with other upgrades, this includes:
• Scale out deployments
• Scale up deployments
• Multi-site deployments
Important: System Expansion Node kits do not provide failover or high-
availability capabilities to ActiveScale systems.
