5.5 Troubleshooting

Problem
Your laptop cannot connect to
https://169.254.140.1:10443/.
When the configuration wizard completes, the system
raises a single critical event.
Post-login configuration gets stuck on setting the master
encryption phrase.
The configuration wizard's cable check failed.
The Apply Progress page indicates that a step failed.
Post login configuration gets stuck on setting the master

Post login configuration fails with the error Failed
creating DNS connection.
Post login configuration fails with the error Configuring
DNS connection... or Updating environment.
Post login configuration fails while updating the
environment with the error Invalid Message: Invalid
Type: null (expected string).
Recommended Action
Make sure you have given your laptop an IP address in
the same range as the System Node's default
link local IP address of the eth2 network interface
(169.254.140.1).
You might be connected to the wrong System Node.
Recheck your physical cabling.
This event,
ELASTICSEARCH_CLUSTER_HEALTH_STATUS_CR
ITICAL,
can be safely ignored.
Western Digital Support must refer to internal
documentation to Fix Unreachable BMCs.
Double check the system cabling by referring back to the
instructions earlier in this guide.
Alternatively, Western Digital Support can refer to
internal documentation to Troubleshoot Cable Check
Failures.
To see details about the error, click Show details. The
format of the details varies by step. Copy the text to a
clipboard in case you need to send it to Western Digital
Support.
To retry the operation, click Retry.
Western Digital Support must confirm that BMC IPMI IP
addresses are reachable (pingable) before starting the post
login configuration phase. If any BMC addresses are not
pingable Western Digital Support must refer to internal
documentation to Fix Unreachable BMCs first.
Refresh the page and continue.
Click Back, make sure all fields are still filled in
(sometimes the Company Name field is unset) and then
click Go Live again.
