Never install or work on the cutting decks or lift arms with the engine
running. Always stop engine and remove key from ignition switch
first.
See the Cutting Deck Operator's Manual for adjustment procedures for cutting
decks on the Groundsmaster 4500-D and Groundsmaster 4700-D.
The blades of the cutting decks are to come to a complete stop in approximately
five (5) seconds after the PTO is disengaged.
Note: Make sure the decks are lowered onto a clean section of turf or hard
surface to avoid dust and debris.
To verify this stopping time, have a second person stand back from the machine
at least twenty (20) feet and watch the blade on one of the cutting decks. Have
the machine operator disengage the PTO and record the time it takes for the
cutting deck blade to come to a complete stop. If this time is greater than seven
(7) seconds, the deck control manifold braking valve (RV) may need adjustment.
