DTC P0506 [13B-MSP]
DTC P0506 IAC system RPM lower than expected
DETECTION
CONDITION
The PCM compares the actual idle speed with the target idle speed when the
engine is running. If the actual idle speed is lower than targeted by 100
rpm, the PCM determines that the IAC system RPM is lower than expected.
Diagnostic support note
This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in
two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same
malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction
condition during the first drive cycle.
FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2/Mode 12) is available.
The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
VSS malfunction
Drive-by-wire control system malfunction
A/C cut-off control malfunction
Generator control system malfunction
Intake-air line clogged
Air cleaner clogged
Throttle body clogged
Purge solenoid valve malfunction
IAT sensor malfunction
ECT sensor malfunction
