Usage Guidelines
Use
update (dns) (override)
updates for resource records (RRs) A, TXT and PTR. A DHCP server can always override the
client even if the client is configured to perform the updates
In the DHCP server network pool, FQDN is defined as the DDNS domain name. This is used
internally in DHCP packets between the DHCP server on the switch and the DNS server
Example
WS5100(config-dhcp)#ddns domainname TestDomain.com
WS5100(config-dhcp)#
WS5100(config-dhcp)#ddns multiple-user-class

DHCP Config Commands
Configures the default router or gateway IP address for the network pool. To remove the
default router list, use the
default-router <Router IP address>
Parameters
default-router
<router IP address>
Usage Guidelines
The IP address of the router should be on the same subnet as the client subnet
Example
WS5100(config-dhcp)#default-router 2.2.2.1
WS5100(config-dhcp)#
to enable an internal DHCP server to send DDNS
no default-router
