is only applicable when the ZyWALL is in router mode.
3.1

Wizard Setup Overview

The web configurator's setup wizards help you configure the ZyWALL to access the Internet and edit
VPN policies and configure IKE settings to establish a VPN tunnel.
3.2

Internet Access

The first Internet access wizard screen has three variations depending on what encapsulation type you
use. Refer to your ISP checklist in the Quick Start Guide to know what to enter in each field. Leave a
field blank if you don't have that information.
3.2.1 ISP Parameters
The ZyWALL offers three choices of encapsulation. They are Ethernet, PPTP or PPPoE.
Ethernet
For ISPs (such as Telstra) that send UDP heartbeat packets to verify that the customer is still online,
please create a WAN-to-WAN/ZyWALL firewall rule for those packets. Contact your ISP to find the
correct port number.
Choose Ethernet when the WAN port is used as a regular Ethernet.
The following table describes the labels in this screen.
