Convention
This font style marks a placeholder that indicates where appropriate characters are to be
entered in an actual command.
Bold code-font characters indicate the abbreviation for a command.
Only one of the options separated by a vertical bar can be specified at the same time.
Square brackets enclose an item or set of items whose specification is optional.
From the several items enclosed in the brackets, exactly one should be chosen. The item
separator is the vertical bar (|). Example:
{A|B|C} means that one of A, B, or C must be specified.
An ellipsis (...) indicates that the item or items enclosed in ( ) or [ ] immediately preceding
the ellipsis can be specified as many times as necessary.
An underscore Indicates a default value.
Indicates exactly one space character.
Indicates n or more space characters.
A tilde indicates that the item before this symbol should be described according to the
syntax enclosed by < >, << >>, or (( )) following this symbol.
Single angle brackets indicate a syntax element that must be followed for each item.
Double angle brackets indicate the default value.
Double brackets indicates the range of values that can be specified.

beginning with an upper-case alphabetic character
A string of 44 or fewer characters consisting of substrings delimited
by periods (.). Each substring is a symbolic name.

A string consisting of multiple substrings delimited by periods (.). The
last character is a period (.). Each substring is a REXX start symbol or
number. The first substring is a REXX start symbol.
