To display module status and configuration, use the show running-config command.

Usage Guidelines
In some cases, you might see a difference in the duplex mode displayed when you enter the
interfaces
mode displayed in the
show interfaces
command shows the configured mode for an interface.
The
but no configuration for the speed. When no speed is displayed in the output, it indicates that the
interface speed is configured to be auto and that the duplex mode shown becomes the operational setting
once the speed is configured to something other than auto. With this configuration, it is possible that the
operating duplex mode for that interface does not match the duplex mode shown with the
running-config

Support for this command was introduced on the Catalyst 4500 series switch.

show interfaces
command shows the operating mode for an interface, while the
show running-config command output for an interface may display a duplex mode configuration
command.
