spanning-tree cost

To calculate the path cost of STP on an interface, use the spanning-tree cost command. To revert to the
default, use the no form of this command.

Usage Guidelines
When you configure the cost, higher values indicate higher costs. The range applies regardless of the
protocol type specified. Path cost is calculated, based on interface bandwidth.
Examples
This example shows how to access an interface and set a path cost value of 250 for the spanning tree
VLAN associated with that interface:
Switch(config)# interface fastethernet 2/1
Switch(config-if)# spanning-tree cost 250
Switch(config-if)#
