If the HP NetServer Will Not Power On

Use these steps to check for power related problems:
1. On the control panel, verify the LCD screen's backlight is lit (green glow).
a. If it is lit, the HP NetServer is receiving AC power.
b. If it is not lit, ensure the HP NetServer's power cord is connected.
2. Check the HP NetServer's power supplies.
Each power supply has three LEDs and the top LED is the Power (PWR)
LED.
The top PWR LED should glow a steady green when the HP
NetServer's DC power has been switched on.
The PWR LED will blink green, if the DC power is switched off,
but AC power is properly connected.
3. If the PWR LED on any power supply is not a steady green or blinking
green, reseat the power supply.
You can release the lever and then reset it, or remove the power supply out
of the HP NetServer.
4. If you remove the power supply to reseat it, wait 15 seconds before
re-installing the power supply.
This prevents tripping the inrush current limit of the circuit breaker.
5. If all power supply LEDs are still blinking green, the HP NetServer might
be in a sleep state.
Refer to your NOS's instructions concerning sleep states and the "Sleep
States (ACPI)" topic in Chapter 2, "Controls, Indicators, and Ports."

If the HP NetServer Powers On but Fails POST (Power-On Self Test)

Use this checklist and Table 12-1 later in this chapter to check for the following
problems:
If no message is displayed on the control panel LCD, remove and reseat
the control board. Verify the two connectors are installed.
If the front panel is operating normally but no message appears on the HP
NetServer's monitor, check for a POST pass code on the control panel
LCD.
