Chapter 7
CAUTION
The processors are sensitive to static electricity, and can be
easily damaged by improper handling. Do the following when
handling the accessory kit:
6. Put on the anti-static wrist strap and place the anti-static mat on a firm
surface near the system.
7. Connect the strap and mat to an unpainted metal surface on the system
chassis.
8. Loosen the captive screws holding down the processor cage cover.
See Figure 7-6.
9. Swing open the cover to (approximately) a 45 angle and then lift it off.
See Figure 7-6.
Leave the processor in the anti-static container until you
are ready to install it.
Use an anti-static wrist strap and a grounding mat.
Before you remove a processor from the anti-static
container, touch a grounded, unpainted metal surface on
the HP NetServer to discharge static electricity.
Wear a wrist-strap and use a static-dissipating work surface
connected to the chassis when handling components.
Ensure the metal of the wrist strap contacts your skin.
