However, this feature is NOS dependent and the dump area (hard drive) must be
configured according to the instructions provided by your specific NOS.
CAUTION
If the dump area has not been properly configured according
to your NOS instructions, you may get a system hang or
unpredictable results.
1. To select Service from the Main Menu, press the Enter button.
A display appears on the HP NetServer's front panel display as shown
below.

2. Press Enter to select NOS Memory Dump.
The following information appears on the HP NetServer's front panel
display, but with only two lines visible.

WARNING: Halts
the server!
<ESC> to skip dump
>Start Dump
<ESC> represents the Escape button.
3. To initiate the dump process, scroll down to >Start Dump and press the
Enter button.
The Enter button can only initiate the dump process when the >Start Dump
line is visible. Once the dump is initiated, the following line appears on the
HP NetServer's front panel LCD display.

4. Press the front panel's Escape button to return to the Main Menu.
Once the dump process has been initiated, it happens very quickly and
cannot be aborted. Using the Escape button only returns the user to the
Main menu and clears the display. Rebooting (Reset) or powering down
the HP NetServer will also clear the display.
NOTE
If the HP NetServer is powered off and the user selects NOS
Memory Dump, the FPC displays
when powered off
still press the Escape button to return to the Main menu.
