Chapter 7
CAUTION
Do not attempt to install or remove PCI boards with the HP
NetServer in any kind of sleep state, or a system crash or hang
may occur.
2. If required, extend the HP NetServer out from the rack on its slides by
performing the necessary steps, including the safety precautions.
Refer to Chapter 3, "Opening and Closing the HP NetServer."
3. Access the Processor Baseboard by removing the chassis top cover.
Refer to Chapter 3, "Opening and Closing the HP NetServer."
4. Check the jumper settings on the processor baseboard. See Figures 7-4
and 7-5.
When reconfiguring the HP NetServer with processors of a different clock
speed than previously used, you must change the jumper settings on
jumper block J6A1 on the processor baseboard. See Figures 7-4 and 7-5.
5. If necessary, change the jumper settings to match the processor speed of all
the processor modules in the HP NetServer.
CAUTION
All processors on the baseboard must have the same speed,
cache size and product number. For example, you can't mix
three 550 MHz processors with different cache sizes, or you
can't mix 550 MHz with 500 MHz processors. The processor
modules must all operate at the same speed, cache size, and
with the same product number.
For processor speeds other than those shown in Figure 7-5, refer to the
expansion kit and Figure 7-4 for the jumper positions of the processor
module's speed on jumper block J6A1.
