As the IP phones connected to Switch A get IP addresses automatically, they should
send an untagged DHCP request to the DHCP server for an IP address upon their
startup. When the DHCP server receives a request, it responds with a temporary IP
address, and in addition, the voice VLAN ID, and the IP address of the voice server.
After the IP phone receives the response, it discards the temporary IP address and
re-sends a DHCP request with the voice VLAN tag to the DHCP server. Thus, the IP
phone gets an IP address within the voice VLAN to communicate with the voice server
normally.
