2.2.2
Interrogation and Programming
The OPTIMIZER Smart Mini IPG has a set of parameters that control its operation. The
values of these parameters are referred to as the device (parameter) values.
The Optimizer Smart Mini Programmer application can read the current programmed
device values using the Interrogate command. This action is carried out automatically
when a communication link has been established between the Intelio Programmer and
the OPTIMIZER Smart Mini IPG. Thereafter, the Interrogate command can be issued
again, if desired, to update the current status of the OPTIMIZER Smart Mini IPG (e.g.,
battery voltage).
Whenever the Interrogate command is issued, the currently programmed device values
are loaded and displayed on the Optimizer Smart Mini Programmer application screen.
The values displayed on the Optimizer Smart Mini Programmer application screen are
referred to as parameter values.
The clinician can review and modify the parameter values using the Optimizer Smart Mini
Programmer application. The modified parameter values can then be transmitted to the
OPTIMIZER Smart Mini IPG using the Program command.
Note: The modified parameter values displayed on the programmer screen in blue are
NOT transferred to the IPG until the Program command is performed.
If the new parameter values do not yield the desired clinical effect, they can be canceled
using the Undo command. This command resets the device parameters to the previously
programmed values.
Useful parameter combinations can be stored as a standard file (also known as "user
presets"). The file extension for a standard file is ".mips". After creating a particular
standard, the standard can be loaded for patients who require a similar set of
programmed values.
The Load Program command of the Optimizer Smart Mini Programmer application reads
data from a standard (.mips) file. The Save Program command writes data to a standard
(.mips) file. These commands allow the Optimizer Smart Mini Programmer application to
be used as an editor of standards (see Section 3.25).
2.2.3
OPTIset
The Optimizer Smart Mini Programmer application features the OPTIset tool which can
be used analyze the patient's rhythm and propose the best settings for IEGM sensing,
CCM timing, and CCM train parameters (see Section 3.9)
2.2.4
Lead Impedance Measurement
The Optimizer Smart Mini Programmer application can be used to measure the
impedance of the ventricular leads (see Section 3.14).
2.2.5

following data stored on the OPTIMIZER Smart Mini IPG:
CCM Statistics (see Section 3.15.1)
Trends (see Section 3.15)
