The Operating Mode choices are:
•
Standby (OOO): The device is placed in safe mode with no CCM therapy
delivery.
•
Active ODO-LS-CCM: The device uses atrial, ventricular, and local sense events
as triggers for CCM therapy delivery.
•
Active OVO-LS-CCM: The device uses only ventricular and local sense events
as triggers for CCM therapy delivery.
Note: Active OVO-LS-CCM mode is not supported by this version of programmer.
To program the Operating Mode into the OPTIMIZER Smart IPG:
1. Place (or replace, if necessary) the Legacy Programming Wand over the
OPTIMIZER Smart IPG implant site.
2. Tap the Mode parameter on the Device Bar.
3. Select the operating mode from the Mode pop-up menu.
4. Perform one of the following actions to issue the Program command:
a. Press the Program button on the Legacy Programming Wand or
b. Tap the Program button on the Tool Bar, or
c. Tap the Program button on the Programming Bar
If the programming is successful, the Optimizer Smart Programmer application will
display the message "Programming OK".
However, if the Legacy Programming Wand is not well positioned over the implant site,
the programming operation may fail. If a failure in communication occurs, the
Programmer will display the message "Programming Error" along with the options Retry
and Cancel.
Retry can be performed by repositioning the Legacy Programming Wand and selecting
the Retry button or by pressing the Program button located on the Legacy Programming
Wand.
7.11.2 CCM Therapy Delivery Options
CCM therapy delivery by the OPTIMIZER Smart IPG is set by the CCM Mode parameter
on the Device Bar.
Tapping the CCM Mode parameter will cause the CCM Mode pop-up menu to appear.

The CCM Mode choices are:
•
CCM OFF
•
Continuous: For testing purposes only.
Warning: The OPTIMIZER Smart IPG MUST NEVER be left in Continuous mode.
•
Timed: CCM therapy will be delivered as scheduled by the CCM Schedule tab.
Selecting Continuous will cause a warning window to appear (see Figure 103). This
window will reappear every time a programming command is issued to remind the
operator that the OPTIMIZER Smart IPG is still set to Continuous mode. Inadvertent
extended use of Continuous mode will cause the battery of the OPTIMIZER Smart IPG
to prematurely run-down, necessitating frequent recharging sessions.
