1.0 Intended Use
Quickie® and Zippie® power wheelchairs are battery-
operated devices with wheels that are intended for
medical purposes to provide mobility to persons
restricted to a sitting position. The Zippie power
wheelchairs are specifically for people who are slightly
smaller in stature—including children.
2.0 User information
Power wheelchairs are exclusively for a user who is unable to
walk or has limited mobility. It is for their own personal use
indoors and out.
When an Attendant Control Module is fitted, the Power
Wheelchair may be operated by an assistant on behalf of the
user.
When a Dual Control Module is fitted the Power Wheelchair
may be operated by the user, or control may be switched to
an assistant to operate on behalf of the user.
The maximum weight limit includes both the user and any
weight of accessories fitted to the wheelchair.
WARNING!
Exceeding the weight capacity could lead to injury and/or
permanent damage to the equipment.
NOTE- Exceeding the weight limit will void the warranty.
The intended lifetime of the wheelchair is 5 years. Please DO
NOT use or fit any 3rd party components to the wheelchair
unless they are officially approved by Sunrise Medical.
Doing so may void the warranty.
2.1 Choose the right chair and safety options
Sunrise provides a choice of many power wheelchair styles,
sizes and adjustments to meet the needs of the user.
However, final selection of a wheelchair and control system
rests solely with the user and their health care professional.
Choosing the best system for the user depends on such
things as:
1. User's size, disability, strength, balance and coordination.
2. User's intended use, and level of activity.
3.
The types of hazards the user must overcome in daily
use (in areas where the chair is most likely to be used).
The need for options for user's safety and comfort

(such as positioning belts or special seating systems).
2.2 Adjust chair to user ability
The user needs to work with their doctor, nurse or
therapist, and their Authorized Dealer, to fit their chair and
adjust the controller settings for their level of function and
ability.

the event of a breakdown, contact them and try to give all
relevant details so they can help quickly.
• The wheelchairs shown and described in this user guide
may not correspond in every detail exactly to your own
model. However, all instructions are still entirely relevant,
irrespective of detail differences.
• The manufacturer reserves the right to alter without notice
any weights, measurements or other technical data shown
in this manual. All figures, measurements, and capacities
shown in this manual are approximate and do not constitute
specifications.

Before using the chair you, and each person who may
assist, should read this entire Manual and make sure to
follow all instructions. Review the warnings often, until they
are second nature.

7176-19:2008.
