This section describes corrective actions for image quality issues. Take the corrective action for the particular symptom. If
the issue persists, contact your dealer, or our sales office or call center.
Symptom
White stripes/blurring/dark stripes occur
(in the carriage scanning direction).
Text is double- or triple-printed in the
media feed direction.
Misalignment occurs in bidirectional
printing.
Ink droplets drip during printing.

Nozzles are clogged

When nozzle clogging is not resolved even after head cleaning (P.2-9), check the following.
 Follow the steps in P.4-7 [Cleaning head nozzles].
 Follow the steps in P.4-5 [Cleaning under the carriage].
 Follow the steps in P.4-12 [Nozzle recovery function].

Ink cartridge warning appears

If an ink cartridge issue occurs, the cartridge LED will light in red and a warning message is displayed. All operations
involving ink discharge, such as printing and cleaning, are disabled. Replace with new ink cartridges.
• Once an ink cartridge warning appears, do not leave the machine in that state over an extended period. Nozzle clog-
ging prevention will be disabled. If the nozzles are clogged, the machine must be repaired by a Mimaki service engi-
neer.

Ink leakage occurs

If ink leaks, turn off the main power switch, unplug the machine, and contact your dealer or our sales office or call center.
Turn on the machine.

Corrective action
(1) Perform head cleaning.
(2) Perform maintenance in the station.
(3) Execute the [FEED COMP.] function.
(4) Remove any paper scraps or other debris adhering to areas over which
the head passes, such as the media holder.
(1) Execute the [FEED COMP.] function.
(1) Execute the [DROP.POScorrect] function.
(1) Clean the wiper.

(3) Clean the underside of the carriage.
